Hélène, a young actress, is rehearsing the text from Lady from the Sea. At the same time, she is helping her grandmother, who lives at the Belgian Coast, to empty her apartment. The two women seem to be drifting between past and future. The sea becomes the canvas on which the two women can project their doubts, dreams and fears.
